In-depth review of popular smart watches and bands Part 4

I am using the 46mm model of “HUAWEI WATCH GT 4” released by Huawei Japan on October 24, 2023, paired with the iPhone 15 Pro. This is the final installment of the four-part review. I would like to introduce the ease of use and customization of the basic functions that I learned after using it for about a month.
Customize your watch face for free
HUAWEI WATCH GT 4 comes in 46mm and 41mm models, and the author is using the 46mm model. The approximately 1.43-inch large screen display is AMOLED (organic EL) with good color reproduction and has a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. The advantage is that the displayed information is easy to read. You can also customize it to suit your needs.
First of all, there are 11 preset dial designs, and you can change the color scheme and display functions for each. Unique clock faces are also preset, such as animations that bloom depending on the time of day and goal achievement status.
Additionally, you can download and add your favorite watch faces using the HUAWEI Healthcare app. According to Huawei, there are over 10,000 different dial designs. Although there are some paid ones (requires a credit card to be registered for purchase), there are also many free ones, and they seem to be enough to satisfy you.
The GT 4’s display is high-definition, so you can make it look like an analog watch, or you can choose an art-style dial to make it look more than just an ordinary watch.
Display brightness can be automatically adjusted. You can also set it to “always display” so you can always check the current time. In that case, it is interesting that the design changes slightly between the brightly lit state and the dimmed standby state. Note that if you enable the always-on display, battery life will deteriorate, but in my experience, the battery consumption per day is about 20% at most, and it seems that you can expect about 5 days of continuous use.
