On March 9, the humor rock group “First Course” released their second studio album “Interkurss”, and also noticed a presentation event or, as they announced, an “album listening ceremony” – of course, on the Internet (on their Facebook page), remotely and online, from a studio in Andrejsala.
“Intercourse” is “a musical reflection in 14 parts about the beauty of love and the misery in the lives of young men,” the group camp said. “Love will win everything, it will be able to find a way to” matrize “- even in these difficult times,” says the group’s vocalist / guitarist Dāvis Mazurenko. “The album combines the common, different and important things of all group members. It is about leisure, travel, computer games, relationships and, of course, girls, ”adds Francis Upaciers (guitar, vocals). The sound heard on the album reflects the uniqueness of each participant, which creates the musical set of “Interkurss”. This diversity can also be heard in the overall musical design of the album – from the first steps in modern rhythms to the usual “First Course” soundtracks, which will make every non-dancer dance. ” The authors of the words and music of the sound material included in the album are the group “Pirmais Kurss”, the dream team has worked on mixing and mastering – Arnis Račinskis, Kaspars Ansons and Krišjānis Geidāns.

The guys are honored, during their eleven years of existence, have played concerts throughout Latvia and released the album “Problems”, which tells about sore topics – unsuccessful purchase of a new car, barn construction process, hair problems and the Internet. The concerts feature original music and some masterpieces of Latvian music. Nevertheless, the album can also be listened to with great interest. The first piece “Excursion” included in it is great in general – from the point of view of text, music, and the melody that stays in the memory immediately. The same can be said about “Follower” with a soft erotic keystroke. Once you have entered the first songs in the “Intercourse” humor rock circles, you can safely move on – “Munameģis” (the protagonist’s trip back, which results in “getting into the shit”), “Shot” ”),“ How to call ”(Dainis Porgants instead of Chuck Norris), etc. An elegant guitar and a text reflecting various everyday negations above all else. PRICE. What happened to “First Course” in the middle of the album? As if someone had blown them. “Miedziņš”, “Mīlestības festivāls”, “Par Gauja”, “Mīlestība hur” energy, no memorable melody, no good humor, no interestingness in general. It is good that the last song “Sauce” can be evaluated with a plus sign, so the proportion of “pass” and surrendered songs is about 50:50.
