Review: DJI Mini 4 Pro – The Smallest and Lightest Drone Under 250 Grams

It’s not even two months since DJI showed off its great recreational drone Air 3, and another piece has arrived in our editorial office for a quick test Mini 4 Pro.

The Mini series fits in a purse, and its Pro offshoot is hot on the heels of the Air quadcopters. Flying fans will have a really hard time deciding.

The smallest, lightest and least regulated

With the new year, they will finally start paying after years of delays new regulations for recreational flying in EU countries, so let’s start with the most attractive one. Not only does the Mini series fit in a purse, but all its representatives are proud of their take-off weight up to 249 grams.

The DJI Mini 4 Pro is no exception, so according to the new rules it falls far short the freest category C0 (PDF leaflet).

So, if local ordinances do not prohibit it, you can fly with such a small thing almost everywhere, and you should not have a problem next season, even in a park full of dog walkers and on a beach in Croatia with the occasional flyover of unrelated persons. But you must never fly over a larger group of people or a crowd.

The drone has a take-off weight of around 249 grams and falls into the least regulated category C0

From twenty thousand crowns

The drone is available in the official European e-shop in three price variants:

799 eur: DJI Mini 4 Pro with RC-N2 controller (own mobile as screen)
999 eur: DJI Mini 4 Pro with RC 2 advanced controller
1129 eur: DJI Mini 4 Pro Fly More Combo with RC Controller 2

Prices in Czech e-shops are more or less similar, or slightly higher:

We were able to briefly fly the medium variant with the DJI RC 2 controller, which is armed with its own screen, Android operating system and pre-installed the DJI Fly appwhich you will have to install on your mobile in the case of a simpler driver.

Great connection with the controller thanks to the O4 protocol

Engineers have managed to cram pro circuits into the Mini 4 Pro’s tiny body image transmission on the new O4 protocol (OcuSync 4). The Mini 4 Pro is thus only the second aircraft that can do this, after the summer Air 3.
