Air France operates some lounges outside of France. The peculiarity of these is that they are often also open to Priority Pass members. What awaits you in an Air France lounge in the USA, I’ll show you in detail Air France Lounge New York JFK Bewertung.
JFK Airport in New York is far from well laid out, which is why you need to orient yourself in view of the lounges as well, because you can only use them sensibly if you start in the right terminal. This also applies to the Air France Lounge New York JFK, which is located in Terminal 1. All airline flights on the parade route also depart from there. Air France currently flies from New York to Paris up to six times a day, with flights practically every hour in the evening. From 4:30 pm there is usually an hourly flight from New York to France, with slight deviations depending on the season and the day of the week. Before their flight, premium passengers can use the lounge available to you in my Air France Lounge New York JFK Review you want to present.
Air France Lounge New York JFK – Location and access
The New York Air France Lounge is located in Terminal 1, used by Air France and some other SkyTeam alliance airlines (e.g. China Eastern or Korean Air), but also by various Star Alliance airlines such as Lufthansa or Swiss . Interestingly, while all Air France planes take off from the terminal, KLM jets, like most Delta flights, depart from Terminal 4. Once you pass through Terminal 1 security, the Air France lounge is clearly signposted. . Basically, all you have to do is turn right and walk a few hundred meters to the end of the terminal. Depending on the gate, it can take up to 15 minutes to get there from the lounge.
Access to the Air France Lounge JFK is available to all passengers traveling in Business or First Class on Air France or any other SkyTeam airline. In addition, access is granted to all SkyTeam Elite Plus members, regardless of travel class. A special feature of the Air France lounge in New York (as well as some of the airline’s other lounges in North America) is that it is also accessible with a Priority Pass. If you are traveling with Lufthansa, for example, you can visit the lounge even if you have a Priority Pass. This applies, for example, to all holders of an American Express Platinum card.

Please note, however, that although the lounge is open from 10:00 to 24:00, there may be explicit access restrictions between 14:00 and 19:00. Especially during times when flights to Europe take off, it is not unlikely that you will not be able to access with a Priority Pass. As an Air France passenger with a ticket or business class status, you have guaranteed access.
The stay at the Air France Lounge New York JFK took place in February 2022.
Air France Lounge New York JFK – Layout and equipment
Basically, the Air France lounge in New York is medium in size and basically made up of two different areas. As soon as you enter the lounge, you will see a staircase to the second floor directly behind the reception.
Below, however, there are also some seating areas on the ground floor which, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows, offer the same light as the seating areas upstairs. There are basically different tables with two chairs each.
The décor has left a modern imprint, even if it’s not particularly imaginative. The lower area also offers a large buffet, some of which you can help yourself (more on that in a moment).
If you go up the stairs, you will find another very similar area. After a few seats “in the corridor” there is another seating area with tables of two seats each. There is also a bench in the middle of this area, which softens the otherwise rather monotonous layout a bit.
On one side there are also some high tables with sockets from which you can enjoy the view of the track. Otherwise, there really isn’t much variety in terms of seating.
It should also be noted that the lounge (hence the access restrictions) can get very busy in the early evening as Air France flies every hour and other passengers can use the lounge as well. As a result, it’s not too exclusive and sometimes a bit noisy.
Air France Lounge New York JFK – Food and drinks
In my Air France Lounge New York JFK review, the food and drink offerings are positive. There is a medium-sized buffet on both levels, offering a large selection of smaller snacks such as chips or fruit.
There are also various appetizers and desserts, including salads. In addition, there are four hot buffet dishes (at least in February 2022) – during my visit a soup as well as a vegetarian and a meat dish.
The Nespresso coffee machine, which you can use alone, is also of excellent quality. Of course, there are also various soft drinks and a large selection of spirits.
Personally, I have also positively noted that there is a good selection of wines and even Taittinger champagnes, which is not a matter of course for a business class lounge – as in my Air France Business Class review, I also like the wide French attention noted the crying.
It is also worth mentioning that passengers on flights AF9, AF11 and AF17 (departures from 20:00) have the option to enjoy an à la carte menu in the lounge and to forgo the meal on board – this is served from approximately 18:00 in a corresponding area in the upper saloon cleared and covered accordingly.
Unfortunately, as I was traveling on AF7, I was unable to test this service. It is regularly available to all Air France business class passengers, but not to economy class passengers in the status lounge. You will then be served directly to your seat, including drinks, which creates much more exclusivity.
Air France Lounge New York JFK – Entertainment and services
There isn’t much to say about the entertainment offerings in this Air France Lounge New York JFK review. There is usually a selection of different newspapers and magazines in the entrance area, although these were not available when I visited.
There are also televisions in several places in the lounge, showing news channels (thankfully silent). WiFi works fast and well with a password. So you can do a little job with a nice view.
If not, it should be remembered that the lounge offers both toilet and shower, which can be booked at the reception. The cleanliness and size left a lot to be desired, at least for the toilets.
Overall, the lounge pretty much offers exactly what you would expect from a business class lounge. I would describe the offer as more or less comparable to Lufthansa lounges.
Air France Lounge New York JFK – the conclusion
Overall, the lounge in mine Air France Lounge New York JFK Bewertung made a very solid impression on me. The lounge is not great, but more than adequate for a business class lounge. The only thing that bothers me is that it gets quite crowded and noisy when flights to Europe take off in the evening. Otherwise the lounge is bright, modern and offers comfortable seating. The buffet is also not bad, so you can fill up before your flight. Especially on delayed flights, the a la carte service is definitely a big plus, so you can sleep really fast on board.
My personal highlight in the Air France Lounge New York JFK +
The special feature of the Air France Lounge New York is that an à la carte dinner is offered for late departures – the selection of wines and champagnes is also impressive.
