The Bundesliga will continue from May 16. This decision was made in the general assembly of the DFL on Thursday.

Politicians had given the green light on Wednesday for a continuation of German professional football. The DFL then informed the 36 Bundesliga and Second League clubs in a circular that they wanted to continue playing on May 15.

After the general assembly on Thursday, the German Football League (DFL) has announced that the ball will only roll in the Bundesliga and the second division on May 16 (Saturday) after a nine-week break.

Start on May 16: Bundesliga continues with round 26

There will be no Bundesliga game on the first day of the Bundesliga. Game operations have been suspended since mid-March. The German champion is to be chosen on June 27 (Saturday). The decisions in the 2nd division should, as far as the coronal position allows, be taken as usual on Sunday the next day.

At the start, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04 will meet in the revier derby, and FC Bayern Munich will be a guest in the Bundesliga history for the first time at Aufsteiger Union Berlin.
