Revidas® is a successful finale of the wish of BASF to create the most advanced fungicide for oil crops. IN Revidas® join forces with the unique azole of the latest generation – Revizol®as well as boscalid – the SDHI engine of the most successful fungicide in canola and sunflower – Pictor®. These are 2 active substances with exceptional qualities, each of which is registered for these crops, recalls Bozhidar Bonev, product manager of oilseed crops. When you want to be the best, however, you have to be able to offer the best. That’s how Revidas appeared® – with a completely new, SC formulation with crystalline bonds, in a water base, developed especially for oil crops.

EXCELLENT EFFICIENCY – Revidas® has a systemic, curative and protective effect, demonstrating extremely high efficacy against a large number of pathogens. The new SK formulation makes the final results even more decisive in difficult climatic conditions and a strong infectious background.
CONTINUOUS ACTION AND PROTECTION OF PLANTS – After treatment, Revidas® it immediately enters the plants, and a part of it remains stable on the treated surface, where it slowly releases the active substances, which achieves extremely long-lasting prevention. “What should we expect from a fungicide that is applied during canola flowering? We expect it to protect the plants until they mature. In a standard year, this usually means 60-70 days during which this product should protect the plants,” explains Bozhidar Bonev.
PROTECTION AGAINST WASHING AND UV RADIATION – Revidas® adheres very firmly and remains on the plants in a stable form that protects against washing and solar radiation. The crystalline structure of the formulation is a unique achievement without analogue.
Specially developed for Revidas® formulation has unique qualities. Thanks to it, the product adheres much better than ever to fabrics with a wax coating. The way Revidas holds on inclined surfaces is unique. It is not by chance that BASF is a leader in the development of professional coatings for industry. Revidas® is also unique with its work on micro-porous structures, where liquids are generally difficult to penetrate and retain. This guarantees many times better coverage of the reproductive organs (flower buds and flowers) as a door for the entry of many pathogens, and the protection of whole plants from diseases.
How does the product deal with the most dangerous diseases that are the most difficult to control?
Revidas® is an extremely broad-spectrum fungicide and practically covers all important and most dangerous diseases in sunflower and canola. Its action against canola sclerotinia is proof of how effective it can be in protecting whole plants over an extended period of time. The list of controlled diseases in sunflower includes sclerotinia, phomopsis, phoma, Alternaria, rust, white rust, and in rapeseed Alternaria, cylindrosporiosis, sclerotinia and powdery mildew.
At what point in the development phases of sunflower and canola is Revidas applied®?
Revidas® it can be applied from budding to the end of flowering, which gives a great advantage to farmers because it means about 10 days extra to work in the field. Thus, they can distribute their work and protect themselves from adverse weather and rainfall, Bonev points out one of the advantages.
BASF has conducted 116 trials with the product within 3 years. Disease attack was recorded in 75% of the trials. In 91% of the cases, an increase in yields was also recorded, which is on average plus 10-11% compared to the control.
Revidas® makes a bid to become the next leader in the market of fungicides for oil crops, said Todor Evtimov, Marketing and Technical Manager, at the end of the presentation of the latest fungicide. It took BASF 10 years to develop this product, because it was the only one of all the products that were created at BASF that was able to surpass the benchmark Pictor in terms of efficiency®.
