It’s been storming around Paris Saint-Germain lately. On November 4, when women’s players Aminata Diallo and Kheira Hamraoui were sitting in the car on their way home from a team dinner, the car was stopped by two masked men. The men then pulled out Hamraoui and hit her on the legs with iron pipes, after which Hamraoui was forced to go to hospital.
Diallo was arrested by police shortly after the attack when, according to L’Equipe, she was suspected of being behind the attack to reduce competition in the team. After questioning by the police, however, Diallo was released on bail.
Now Get French Football News, which refers to L’Equipe, reports that the investigation has taken a new turn. Police now suspect that an act of revenge is behind the attack on Hamraoui.
Four PSG players – of which Diallo is one – have received anonymous phone calls from a man who claims to be an ex to Hamraoui. The man also claimed he was seeking revenge on Hamraoui for “ruining his life”.
The 34-year-old man, who is in custody at a prison in Lyon, has been questioned by the police. He claims that he has a close relationship with Diallo and that he had a three-year relationship with Hamraoui during his time in Barcelona.
Tonight, 21:00, PSG will play an important league match against Lyon. PSG have tried in vain to get the match postponed.
