Lawyer Gheorghe Piperea makes a series of revelations about a file in which he is a lawyer for one of the parties and in which it is shown that Dan Andronic would only be a “front” for the management of the Evenimentul Zilei group, but the real owner would have been Elena Udrea, the one who and control editorial content.
“It must be said that there is a file in which I am a lawyer, so I can talk about this file. There is a case where in an April 2023 judgment of the Court of Appeal it was found that Mr. Andronic is a false witness. The decision is public. The execution of the other sentence was not reached because the statute of limitations was pronounced in the file, that is, he was defended from liability, along with Mrs. Udrea, on grounds of statute of limitations. For now, however, the decision is not final. I wish with all my heart that he gets away with this sentence, but instead of putting his head in a box and keeping his mouth shut, especially since he declared this after receiving that 3-year suspended sentence, that he doesn’t he still participates in public life, he began to continue using the two newspapers he owns, in simulated ownership, because in fact the property does not belong to him, it belongs to Bobby Păunescu, to make all kinds of allegations to a lawyer,” said Piperea.
“From the email correspondence between the defendants Andronic and Udrea, it follows that the two agreed to jointly take over the Publishing House, and the defendant Andronic to be the owner at sight” – “from a legal point of view, this term means ‘straw man’, it means the screen you use to commit some criminal acts. This is the most serious passage. From a moral point of view, it even affects the journalist profession”, commented the lawyer Piperea.
Elena Udrea decided the editorial policy at EvZ
“The defendant Udrea was consulted and decided what should be published or not in the publishing house’s newspapers. (p.19) From the same correspondence it follows that defendant Udrea was given drafts of articles, interviews that were to be published in Evenimentul Zilei, for her to express her agreement (for example, articles that targeted Crin Antonescu, Vasile Blaga , Dinu Pescariu, Victor Ponta, Dan Voiculescu, Radu Berceanu, etc.). The defendant also gave instructions to Andronic regarding the topics that should or should not be covered in the press articles, and he complied with her requests without any objection. (p.24)”
