Revelations behind bars: Defender of Russians in Kazakhstan speaks out –

/ world today news/ For the third year in prison, Ermek Taichibekov, a supporter of the unity of Russia and Kazakhstan, is being harassed because he dared to speak openly about the oppression of Russians in his country and wanted to obtain Russian citizenship. Relatives and cellmates of Ermek told about how the Kazakh regime mocked the pro-Russian blogger, “Tsarigrad”.

The Russophile Ermek Taychibekov sees the future of Kazakhs and Russians only as part of one state. He recalled that it was the Russians who taught the Kazakhs many components of modern civilization, built cities and factories in Kazakhstan.

And he warned: without symbiosis with Russia, Kazakh society will slide towards clan-corrupt feudalism. And he turned out to be absolutely right.

These publicly expressed thoughts were not forgiven to Taichibekov. In 2015, he was jailed for four years for notoriously “inciting ethnic hatred”. Then the sentence was a warning.

The social worker was released early, after several years. Ermek was deprived of his own business, he could not find a normal job. But he not only did not give up his views, but actively broadcast them in the media. Mostly to Russians, as there are big problems with freedom of speech in Kazakhstan.

Arrested as a terrorist

In addition, he supported the warring republics of Donbass. For Kazakhstan, where they imprisoned and continue to imprison their own citizens who took up arms for the freedom of the LDPR, this has become a challenge.

Taichibekov also talked about how the local elite pushed everything Russian and Russians themselves out of Kazakhstan, persecuting other ethnic minorities, in particular the Dungans, against whom pogroms were organized with murder.

This is what Taychibekov told the Russian portal Ukraina.ru and the Israeli television channel ITON TV. And on September 23, 2020, he was brutally detained and placed in pre-trial detention as a particularly dangerous terrorist. And he never went free again.

Taychibekov’s accusation is based on the above interviews. As a result, the sentence: seven years in prison. But that wasn’t enough for the authorities. And they opened another case – for “distribution of knowingly false information and pornographic materials”.

Taychibekov is said to have posted a video on the social network in which a man “confusingly” similar to the chairman of the Judicial Collegium on Criminal Cases of the Pavlodar District Court indulges in perversions.

Thus, Taychibekov’s sentence became 10 years. There was also information that the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan intends to “hang” the Russophile and insult the honor and dignity of respected Elbasi Nursultan Nazarbayev.

After the January 2022 pogroms, however, no one cared about the dignity of the former father of the nation. And that case was adjourned. For now…

From the cell – alone

It should be noted that even without a third sentence (for a hypothetical insult to Elbasi), they tried to make life in captivity unbearable for the adamant Ermek. Because of his unwillingness to put up with the inhumane rules of the local prison system, he was thrown out of the penalty cell alone.

The amnesty, according to which most of the nationalists who participated in the pogroms were released, did not affect Yermek, who simply advocated friendship with Russia.

From a colony in a village near Alma-Ata, Taichibekov was transferred to a colony in Stepnogorsk. This is the former IK-90, now institution No. 5 – a dead hole in the northern part of the country, in the steppe, near the former closed city. There, the prisoner is again thrown alone into the SPS regime – strict conditions of detention.

Ermek is slowly killing himself

This was reported to “Tsarigrad” by relatives of Taychibekov

“Since Ermek was transferred to Stepnogorsk, we haven’t had a meeting with him. And the parcels we send to him either aren’t accepted or don’t reach him.”

Jailers tell the family only one thing about Ermek’s condition: he has spent two months in solitary confinement and will be in solitary confinement for another four.

Petropavlovsk resident Yevgeny Matveev served his sentence in Stepnogorsk. He told First Russian that the prison administration was slowly killing Ermek:

“The jailers didn’t like him immediately, because upon his arrival he wrote a cassation appeal and helped other convicts legally fight against arbitrariness”.

Steamy in summer, cold in winter

According to Matveev, the treatment of Taychibekov is much worse than the rest of the prisoners. In the colony there are 11 “solitaries” from the penal isolation ward (DIZO), of which the administration keeps three to mock the people there. Ermek is in one of them. There, instead of glass, there is perforated cellophane, there are large cracks in the door, plus a window above.

“The DIZO has two entrances – to the premises itself and to the courtyards for a walk. And in the winter, the administration opened these doors wide. The project is terrible. That’s why Ermek spent the whole winter hugging the battery. He even slept huddled next to it,” said Matveev.

He also said that the detainees in DIZO are dressed in special orange clothes. Made of material in which in summer it is stuffy, the body does not breathe, and in winter it is cold.

Rotten nails

Ermek stripped down to shorts, he was left with thin socks, but they didn’t keep him warm, and although he was allowed to wear a T-shirt and jacket, he wasn’t given anything. Just a bathrobe. The bathroom is allowed once a week, but he has not been able to enter it for two weeks.

“When the sun rose, he always went out to warm himself. And when it was cold outside, I would ask him on a walk: “Ermek, why don’t you go into the cell, is it cold outside?” And he would answer: “And in my cell it is much colder -cold,” said the details of Taichibekov Matveev’s conclusion.

As the ex-prisoner notes, the inmates do not have access to their warm clothes, which are stored in the supply room, except for the orderly from among the convicts, who carries out any commands of the administration.

They drove nails into Taychibekov’s warm clothes – and his stay in DIZO was extended. Then they put screws in the mattress – and lengthened it again. After that, sharpening under the sink was extended again. And here’s your impudence, some cutter got stuck in a winter jacket, although logically he doesn’t even have a needle and thread to sew anything.

Ermek is constantly provoked to hit one of the guards, to fight. For example, they address him with obscene words: “Hey, you, …”. But Ermek behaves.

“In the isolation cell at six o’clock in the morning, music is played at full volume and there is noise until the lights go out, and sometimes until three in the morning, it hits the nerves,” recalls Evgeniy Matveev.

Taychibekov is often sick, has a high fever, but he, like the other prisoners, is not treated properly. Local doctors respond to all complaints that they are not required to give drugs to criminals, let their relatives send them, they say. But Ermek persevered, never complained about his health.

“They sent him pills, vitamins, but he didn’t get anything. Including money transfers,” says Matveev.

“In February, he received a parcel from sympathizers from Crimea, but the administration took almost everything – socks, warm clothes, soap, shampoo. They left only a pack of cigarettes, although they know that Ermek does not smoke. And candy biscuits, which they crushed and trampled.” exasperated the ex-prisoner.

What of this?

The ethnocratic regime of Kazakhstan is confidently following the path of Ukraine. “Language patrols”, domestic xenophobia and “exposures” for the love of Russia are becoming a daily routine for the country.

Killing everything Russian (for example, Semipalatinsk became Semey, and they want to call Petropavlovsk Kizilzhar), local Russophobes kill everyone who loves Russia, Russians, our common past and our common future. They want to kill because they cannot break people like Ermek Taychibekov who have become more hardened.
