On Wednesday 12 May and for the second time, the Boule Lyonnaise club welcomed two groups of five to six people who followed one another at the bowling alley, for activities within the framework of the Sport & Health system. “The principle is to offer patients for whom sport will be beneficial in terms of health, access to this free gateway, entirely financed by the municipality”, explained the deputy in charge of sports and health, Jérôme Garcia, during the launch at the beginning of last October. Around the practice of the game of boules, courses to manage your balance and mobility, like a hopscotch, before targeting a specific area.

“It also allows us to discover the Lyon ball because we had fallen asleep a little. We also want to reach people who want to find a club spirit, a fun activity and a little sporting but not too much”, explains the president from the club, André Saint-Chamand. In a desire for development, there will be 1 hour and 30 minutes of boules sport per week, with a qualified league leader. This was the case for the day’s workshops with the sector manager, Alexandre Rabaud. “He is responsible for training, entertainment and promoting the sport of bowls. These different activities are aimed at all age categories,” he underlines. There is the discovery ball which is a leisure practice, the health ball for those who have sports activities prescribed by a doctor, the traditional game, precision shooting or intensive shooting. People who have participated in this initiation can be members of the club and practice every day at the bowling alley if they wish, for a license of 20 euros.

Registrations for the “Sport & Health” program are made with Malorie Segond, project coordinator, via the town hall of Revel.
