Revealing Retail Tricks and Poor Quality Food in Czech Republic: Why Customers Turn to Germany and Poland for Better Options

It is a well-known fact that retail chains try all kinds of tricks on us. Unfortunately, the quality of food in the Czech Republic is poor, and there is no prospect of this changing in the near future. And we pay exorbitant amounts for food. Therefore, it is not surprising to customers who solve it by shopping in Germany and Poland. There they get better quality food at much lower prices.

Strange practices

They can’t be surprised. It is enough to have a few negative experiences and the Czech chain of stores simply does not want to support you on principle. The last time Mrs. Heda drew attention to Billy’s big mistake. “I bought cheese at Billa and there was a label weighing November 8th, use by November 16th, and somehow the label peeled off and underneath it was weighed November 7th, use by the 15th. listo-fall, so it seems that repeated weighing can extend the life of the product,” stated the customer.

At the same time, this is a completely exemplary and, unfortunately, also inadmissible case of pasting labels with an expiration date. In this case, it is also made special by the fact that, according to the picture, a different price was charged for the same amount of food. While the cheese cost 49.63 CZK at the weighing that took place on November 7, it was only 41.33 CZK at the weighing a day later.

In fact, food became cheaper, which is logical. The retail chain needs to get rid of fresh food before it goes through. Reducing the price is thus a completely understandable means of achieving this. What can no longer be accepted, however, is the modification of data, which has been proven to have occurred in this case.

Do not consume the packaging

I guess we are all naive and think that the sellers are honest, but they are not and they paste the dates of production and expiration dates. They will do it until the Czech Trade Inspection checks it. It happens in every shop but now after your post they will be tearing down the old oneMr. Jaroslav Kaňok contributed his opinion to the discussion.

At the same time, observant people noticed other interesting things in the photo. Although Billa is cheerfully pasting labels, she warns her customers about strange things. “The packaging is not suitable for consumption,” is literally on the label. We would like to add that with such an approach, its content may not be suitable for consumption either.
