Jennifer Jill again undergoing trial related to alleged drug abuse at the West Jakarta District Court. The agenda for the trial this time was the reading of Jennifer Jill’s defense memorandum or plea which was represented by her attorney, Sahala Siahaan.
In the trial that was held yesterday, new facts were revealed about the reason Jennifer Jill took drugs. Called because at that time Jennifer Jill was having problems with her business.
“The pandemic situation has had an impact. One is her business, the second is because of her family,” said Sahala Siahaan when met after Jennifer Jill’s trial.
In addition, it was also said that Jennifer Jill had used drugs in 2017. At that time, Jennifer Jill was already undergoing rehabilitation by surrendering herself to the National Narcotics Agency.
In 2017, Jennifer Jill admitted to having used methamphetamine because of depression. The depression was found when her first husband died.
“So in 2017, if I’m not mistaken, he used to consume drugs instead of narcotics,” continued Sahala Siahaan.
“So at that time she experienced the condition that her previous husband died,” he continued.
At that time Jennifer Jill was said to be very depressed. The loss of her first husband was a huge blow to Jennifer Jill.
“It was a big blow for him. So when he had that problem he was depressed,” continued Sahala.
It is known that Jennifer Jill was required to be sentenced to six months in prison, reduced from detention or three months of rehabilitation by the public prosecutor for drug abuse cases. The prosecution was read out by the public prosecutor in the trial reading the demands on July 26, 2021.
As additional information, the police arrested Jennifer Jill with her husband, Ajun Perwira, and his son, Philo, at their residence in the North Jakarta area on 16 February 2021.
During the arrest, the police found evidence of 0.39 grams of methamphetamine along with a suction device or bong.
Because Jennifer Jill claimed to be the owner of the methamphetamine, Ajun and Philo were allowed to go home. The results of the three urine tests were also negative for narcotics users.
