Each Windows release has brought a set of really interesting functions. One of the most striking features of Microsoft’s operating system was the startup sound that came out when we turned on the computer. Or rather, when the operating system booted. I am well aware of the sound that Windows 7 and XP made. However and how much no one expected something killed the Windows startup sound. So many years later we found out why!
REVEALED: the reason it killed the Windows startup sound!
The CSI of this case was Jensem Harris who worked as the director of the Windows User Experience (WUE) team. He recently explained why the company has disabled the startup sound in Windows 8 and Windows 10, by default. Yes, because it is included. The question is that it is disabled.
Now the startup sound has been disabled because modern Windows devices work a little differently. They can be used anytime and anywhere. That said, the startup sound can annoy people who are in a meeting or if you are in a class and have to restart your computer.
In fact, this was the result of the transition to a modern world where PCs almost take on the role of mobile devices – always ready to go and can be used anywhere.
when the Microsoft started to work on modern devices, they started to optimize the platforms mainly for a modern use. That said, while one team at Microsoft was busy moving Windows to ARM processors, another started designing an interface that was better suited to tablets. It was at that time and while they were thinking about various things that they began to realize that the startup sound whenever Windows started could be annoying and even weird. For example, someone who has to work late for some reason has to restart and doesn’t want to wake anyone up.
So, the startup sound ended. This is to avoid inconveniences and embarrassing situations.
However, Microsoft has not entirely removed the option and it is possible to activate it.
To do this open the settings and then customization.
Click on the sounds option and open the sounds tab. Then just check the option that lets you play the startup sound.
