A recent acknowledgment of the Princess of Wales’ desire to get to know Islam more closely was revealed by a royal photographer English , Anwar Hussein.
Hussein shared a personal story about Princess Diana and possibly learned more about Islam from her, particularly how he and his wife handled interfaith marriages. It happened when the two were in the same plane on a long-haul flight.
Hussein spent much of the ’80s and ’90s chronicling Diana’s life and the two were close enough to include her work in a new exhibition, Princess Diana: Accredited Access, a “walk-through documentary” in Los Angeles and Chicago.
“All the lights were dimmed in flight, and he came over and whispered, ‘Can I have a chat?’ ” he told People magazine quoted by Instyle, Thursday (20/1/2022).

Hussein noted that the chat took place in the mid-90s.
“He knew that I was married to an English girl, Caroline. He wanted to know about Islam. He asked about getting married when one person was Muslim and the other Protestant,” she said.
“He was intrigued because of what he experienced with (his then-girlfriend) Dr. Hasnat Khan,” he added.
