WASHINGTON DC, KOMPAS.com – Russia actually don’t want to come into direct conflict with United States of America (AS).
In fact, a direct conflict with the US would have been avoided by Russia even though the country continued tensions against it Ukraine.

This was disclosed by the service intelligence US on Tuesday (13/4/2021) in its annual report on global threats as reported AFP.
The report said Moscow would continue to employ tactics this year aimed at weakening the US and dividing Western alliances.
“We suspect Moscow is looking for opportunities for pragmatic cooperation with Washington in its own way,” the report said.
“And we believe that Russia does not want direct conflict with US troops,” the report continued.

The report comes as US President Joe Biden on Tuesday urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to ease mounting tensions with Ukraine.
Biden also proposed a summit between Russia and Ukraine in third countries.
Tensions have risen in recent days due to movements of Russian troops on the Ukrainian border.
The US says the number of Russian troops deployed to the border is at its highest level since 2014.

The report also warned that the Afghan government would find it difficult to contain the Taliban if US-led coalition forces withdrew this year.
“We consider that the prospects for a peace deal will remain low over the next year. The Taliban are likely to gain an advantage on the battlefield,” the report added.
“And the Afghan government will find it difficult to contain the Taliban if the coalition withdraws support,” the report added.
