Jakarta –
Paulo Dybala admitted Juventus still owed him around 3.7 million Euros. However, the Argentine striker wants to resolve this problem in a good way rather than through the courts.
Dybala left Juventus to join AS Roma last summer after his contract expired and was not renewed. Even so, not all of his rights while in the Bianconeri uniform have been fulfilled by management.
Juventus still owes wages that were postponed when the COVID-19 pandemic occurred in 2020. In an official statement, the Bianconeri revealed that the players at that time agreed not to be paid four months of salary, but in fact it was only one month.
The remaining three months will be paid in installments. This was revealed from documents confiscated by investigators. As is known, Juventus is being investigated by the Turin Prosecutor’s Office and the FIGC due to the case of paying salaries under the table.
As a club listed on the stock exchange, Juventus are suspected of not having properly written financial reports, and are even suspected of evading taxes. That is why Dybala, who at that time was a player for the Old Lady, has been questioned twice, the last of which occurred in February.
Earlier this month, La Gazzetta dello Sport got a leak of the contents of the talks. It was revealed that Juventus owed 3.7 million Euros or approximately 60.1 billion Rupiah, and the deadline was next month.
“I don’t remember when the last month’s salary was paid, but I know Juventus still owes me,” said Dybala.
“When we made the deal, I knew if I still had a contract I would receive more in the following months. But if I left, they would have to pay the rest directly.”
“I know Juventus have a final deadline to pay me in April 2023. If they don’t pay, my lawyer will make a written request. But I want to avoid this scenario. I don’t want to sue Juventus,” said Dybala.
It is known that Luca Ferrari, as Dybala’s lawyer, also asked for compensation for his client because Juventus had canceled their commitment to give the 29-year-old player a new contract, but Dybala chose to focus only on paying his salary.
