Djamari Chaniago is one of the Indonesian military figures who has a quite brilliant career in the Green Beret Corps. Djamari Chaniago was once trusted as Pangkostrad, a strategic position in the Indonesian Army.
He was born in Padang, April 8, 1949. Djamari Chaniago was educated at the Military Academy (formerly Akabri) Magelang, Central Java. He is an abituren (graduate) 1971 of the infantry branch.

The chairman of the IPW Presidium, Neta S Pane, said that he regretted the statement of Djamari Chaniago, who called the case of the beatings committed by members of the moge he led against two TNI soldiers as a minor problem.
