Jakarta –
PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Persero) closed dozens of branches and hundreds of employees throughout 2022. Here is the explanation.
President director Jasindo Andy Samuel Panggabean revealed that as of the end of 2021 the number of employees was registered at 927 people. Therefore the number of branches and representative offices is 73 units.
“Currently as of December 2022 our total employees are 665 people compared to 927 last year. Our representative offices now have 30 out of 73,” he told Commission VI of the DPR, on Thursday (8/12/2022).
He explained, these offices have been closed because Jasindo make changes to business processes and models. Andy said these representative offices are usually only occupied by 2 or 3 employees.
The reduction in human resources (HR) was done because the claims process was entirely brought to the center, so representatives and branches no longer needed it.
According to Andy, the company’s depressed financial situation arose due to a problem with one of its products, namely credit insurance. Cite the period 2017-2019 each year Jasindo can collect Rp. 700 billion – Rp. 800 billion. So that in 3 years he can get IDR 2.1 trillion.
However, this product coverage period reaches 25 years. “At that time we (Jasindo) didn’t do a proper technical backup. So that the claims trend from 2017-2019 to 2021 divided by our premiums exceeded 100%. It’s already discovered, but it’s still long because the policy ends in 2044, so we need to restructure it,” he explained.
