The new plantations will only arrive in November, but the face of the courtyard, while awaiting its revegetation, has already changed profoundly. At the Pauline-Roland elementary school (183 pupils), in the very mineral district of the Château, in Rezé (Loire-Atlantique), the bitumen has indeed receded during the summer, the so-called permeable surface climbing from 30 to 60%.
The outdoor space has been reorganized into several “islands” intended to “appease” recess and extracurricular time. Mini-amphitheatre, long double-seated wooden bench, log path – eventually covered with a wicker tunnel –, large vegetable garden containers in the ground, small cabin-style huts, hammock, ping-pong table…
