Housemarque released the much appreciated Returnal which they provided with the necessary updates after the release. The studio was also acquired by Sony PlayStation, making them part of the worldwide PlayStation family.
However, other than working on updates to Returnal, it’s unclear what the studio is up to right now. In an interview with VentureBeat however, the developer has indicated that they are currently working on a new IP.
It’s still very early in development as they’re working on concepts to see what it will end up with. Since they explicitly say they have a new IP in development, a Returnal sequel or a new game in that universe does not seem to be an issue for the time being.
“But it’s early days with us starting a new game, a new IP, concepting it out. We’ll see what comes with that.”
