On December 6, the CIUSSS-ODIM asked the population to avoid going to the emergency department of the Lakeshore General Hospital, which was at its maximum capacity. Measures have been taken to reduce the pressure in the emergency room and the warning is now lifted.

“It is thanks to the exceptional collaboration of teams from St. Mary’s and LaSalle hospitals, as well as the mobilization of all the departments concerned, that the West Island network was able to proceed. to certain transfers of patients and thus ensure a balance of power in its three hospitals, ”the CIUSSS-ODIM indicated in a press release.

Remember that the hospital is designated to receive positive cases of COVID-19 and that outbreaks have been declared on several care units in recent weeks.

The CIUSSS-ODIM serves nearly 375,000 people on its territory and has more than 8,000 beds in public and private establishments for the elderly.
