The atmosphere of calm prevailing in Ain al-Hilweh camp, and the commitment of all parties to the ceasefire, was reflected in greater relief in the city of Sidon, whose commercial markets and main and secondary streets witnessed a gradual return to its previous era as an active city full of life and vitality in all its health, educational, and economic institutions, and in its schools and universities.
It can be said that the city is regaining its breath again and is recovering, albeit slowly, after the recent round of clashes in the Ain al-Hilweh camp… awaiting the return of the official departments in the Sidon Governmental Serail to work early next week.
Yesterday, the capital of the south witnessed a Palestinian and Lebanese political movement aimed at establishing a ceasefire and consolidating the return of life to normal.
In this context, the Lebanese-Palestinian political meeting held a meeting headed by the Secretary-General of the Nasserite Popular Organization, MP Dr. Osama Saad, at the organization’s headquarters in Sidon, devoted to discussing the latest developments in the Ain al-Hilweh camp.
Complete calm still casts a shadow over Ain al-Hilweh camp after the ceasefire agreement reached with the assistance of President Nabih Berri.
This calm atmosphere prompted a number of displaced families in the city of Sidon, especially those whose areas in the camp had not witnessed violent clashes, to return to their homes.
