Return to normal? Emirates acquires additional A380 aircraft

The last aircraft should be included in the fleet in November. This is earlier than the original delivery schedule, which was scheduled for June 2022.

Emirates’ fleet of A380s will grow to a total of 118.

“We have agreed with Airbus to deliver the remaining orders for A380s, for which we have also secured funding for their purchase,” said airline chief Tim Clark.

“In the next two decades, Emirates will continue to be the largest operator of this type of modern aircraft,” he added.

With the gradual easing of travel restrictions around the world following the launch of the covid vaccination campaigns, Emirates decided in October to resume A380 operations between Dubai and Amman, Cairo, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Guangzhou, London (Heathrow), Los Angeles, Manchester, Mauritius, Moscow, Munich, New York (JFK), Paris, Toronto, Vienna, Washington DC and Zurich.
