In view of the evolution of the health situation in the department with the circulation of two variants of the virus, including the particularly contagious Omicron variant, the prefect of Loire-Atlantique has issued a new decree making it compulsory to wear a mask on the public space in the Loire-Atlantique department, with the exception of beaches, edges of watercourses and uncrowded natural areas (forests, marshes, etc.) for people aged eleven and over, from Friday December 31, 2021 at 8:00 am, and until Friday January 28, 2022. The obligation to wear a mask provided for by this decree does not apply to people with disabilities with a medical certificate, to any person practicing a sporting activity, ariders of motorized two-wheelers wearing a helmet with the visor down.
