The Entente Club Triathlon Antsirabe (ECTA), in collaboration with the Vakinankaratra Triathlon League and the Madagascar Triathlon Association, is preparing to awaken the Triathlon course which has been dormant for many years. The event is scheduled for Saturday March 16 in Antsirabe, with the initiation of young enthusiasts, notably Toavina Ramampiandra and Marius Rabenarivo. The swimming competition will be held on Lake Andraikiba, as announced by Toavina of ECTA and Marius, member of the Mauritian Triathlon Federation, during a press conference at St Michel Amparibe College yesterday. The venues are also ready to host cycling and running competitions, essential elements of triathlon. The event is divided into three distinct parts, with the standard distance category of the Triathlon, which includes a 1500 meter swim, a 40 km bike course (MTB, Gravel) and a 10 km run. There is also a long-distance duathlon, consisting of two consecutive running races of 5 km and 10 km, as well as a 40 km cycling race. Finally, the Discovery Triathlon/Duathlon, where participants complete either a 400 meter swim or a 1.25 km run, followed by a 10 km cycle race and a 2.5 km run. km. Armand Ramamonjisoa and Njaka Tsirofo provide technical and moral support for the organization of the event. The competition is open to all, but a medical fitness certificate is required. Currently, around fifteen triathletes have registered, but enthusiasts will be invited to join them for more atmosphere during the competition. The two triathletes are among the athletes who have honored the country abroad. Toavina has already competed in the Tour of Geneva in 2022, placing 70th in the championship. Marius, for his part, has won numerous titles in Mauritius, demonstrating his talent and commitment to the sport. $
