FC Barcelona are doing everything they can to convince Lionel Messi to return. But he is by no means set in stone. The reason for this is the fragile relationship with Joan Laporta.
FC Barcelona’s plan to bring Lionel Messi back next summer isn’t exactly easy to implement, despite the positive news so far. This is what the journalist Veronica Brunati says.
The Argentine journalist recently caused a sensation when she tweeted: “1 July 2023, Lionel Messi will be a Barça player”. Given that Brunati backed off in the La Sotana interview, it seems her claim was a little too far off.
According to the current state, Messi’s return next summer is “not at all certain”, Brunati now has a different opinion. After all, he adds that Barça is still interested in bringing Messi back to his old job.

However, Brunati contradicts the latest rumors that La Pulga and Barça president Joan Laporta have reconnected in a long telephone conversation.
According to journalists, Laporta and Messi have not spoken since the start of the seven-time Ballon d’Or. Brunati also adds that the relationship between the two is zero.
Messi is said to have not yet forgiven Laporta for allowing the coach to let Barca’s 20-year relationship with the superstar end.
