Professional entertainment wrestling is almost as old as the video game, so it is natural that in both hobbies there is a good group of nostalgic people who enjoy reliving the past with emotion. Well, it seems that a new title is in development just for them, as it will bring both the graphics of yesteryear and legendary stars of the WWF.
The game is called RetroMania Wrestling And unless you’ve been a fan of wrestling for decades, you probably don’t know what other title it honors: WWF WrestleFest, an arcade classic released in 1991.
RetroMania Wrestling It will be a kind of sequel to that arcade title – which is about to turn 30 – but that is not its only novelty. It will also have graphics similar to those of that time and will feature both fighters from that time, as well as more modern ones.
Some of the old stars of the World Wrestling Federation will appear in the title, but don’t expect a direct mention of all of them, as that would imply that the rights are paid to each one. Even so, you may find that some take a fairly clear inspiration, such as the Hollywood Nova case. We share the list of confirmed fighters:
- Hawk
- Animal
- Nick Aldis
- Tommy Dreamer
- Matt Cardona
- Brian Myers
- Johnny Retro
- The Blue Meanie
- Stevie Richards
- Hollywood Nova
- Nikita Koloff
- Colt Cabana
- Warhorse
- Austin Idol
- Chris Bey
- Jeff Cobb
- Zack Sabre Jr.
What is a fighting game without different scenarios to emulate those confrontations where the wrestlers come to the street? Therefore, the developers have also confirmed a list of scenarios available from day one:
- High school gym
- House of hardcore
- Japan
- BLACK 70
- NWA powerr
- Pro wrestling tees warehouse
- Retromania wrestling
- Stevie Richards fitness
- S.T.O.M.P in Paradise
- Universal wrestling college
- Warhorse’s hell
- One more not yet announced
