Images of an international match dating back sixty years are rare. This report of about twenty minutes in live conditions is from September 3, 1960. The United States faced the USSR at the Olympic Games in Rome.
Oscar Roberson, Jerry West, Jerry Lucas, Terry Dischinger, Walt Bellamy and again Adrien Smith were members of the American team. Ultra dominating, the Americans won their 8 matches with a margin of 42.4 points. In the semi-finals, it was the USSR of the giant Jan Krumins who tried to oppose them, resisting half-time (35-28) before sinking (81-57). Jerry West led the United States in scoring with 19 points.
