Indie game developer and publisher Hyperstrange has released retro stealth shooter Blood West on PC via Steam. The launch trailer gives the latest look at the world of the game and what you’ll have to do as you become a gunslinger trying to rid the Wild West of evil.
Blood West is a stealth first-person shooter inspired by classics of the genre such as the Thief series (fans of which will be pleased to hear the voice of Master Thief Garrett return as the main character, Steven Russell), the STALKER games, or – from the modern catalog – Hunt: Showdown. The gameplay rewards a cautious approach: scouting the area, stalking enemies, and striking from the shadows.
Blood West puts you in the shoes of a desperate survivor who must battle twisted demons and eldritch horrors. All the while, you search for a way to end the curse plaguing the frontier and perhaps find peace for your evil soul. You must plan your actions wisely to combat the horrors that are corrupting these lands. Act stealthily, gain an advantage and attack from the shadows. However, be that as it may, you can always resort to your firepower if things don’t go according to plan.
