A 7-inch display is attached to the handlebar, which informs you, for example, of the battery level or the remaining range. In direct sunlight, we had problems reading the display. It also partially blinds the driver a lot.
An app is also part of the good tone of an e-scooter. The existing name “Kumpan Key” serves purely to unlock the scooter. It is enough if you approach your scooter with your cell phone within Bluetooth range. That always worked smoothly with the iOS app in the test, with the Android app we always had to bring it to the fore. Kumpan has to do some work here. The app does not offer any other functions, such as adjusting the driving behavior of the scooter to its own needs or a tracking function as is known from zero electric motorcycles.
The space available for luggage is limited: there is still some storage space for odds and ends under the seat, but a helmet no longer fits in. We missed a bag hook on the steering column – the next more expensive model, the Kumpan 54 iconic, is offering it. Or you can upgrade: the plastic version costs 49 euros, the aluminum version 99 euros.
