If you love Tetris, manga and Star Trek, you should mark October 14th in your calendar. Next Saturday the Retro Games Con will be held in Annweiler in the Hohenstaufensaal. In addition to cosplay troops with their colorful costumes from the comic, sci-fi and gaming worlds, there is a colorful supporting program. Fantasy author Yola Stahl will have a stand. Natalis Lorenz is a freelance artist from Heilbronn who, among other things, creates digital art. He has programmed a game for Super Nintendo in which the player has to avert a zombie apocalypse in Heilbronn. The Science Fiction Club Germany is also there. Frank Engelhardt comes with his entire Star Trek exhibition. He has original scripts, masks of Ferengi and other aliens, and original costumes from all series eras. The Classic Tetromino-Games association is a Germany-wide association for console games that, among other things, organizes the Tetris World Championships and looks after the playgrounds at the Retro Games-Con. Min Bekker programs tele and video games in the style of the 90s. Guests can play them at his stand. Author Mina Bekker gives samples of her upcoming fantasy novel. The retro quiz and tournaments also invite you to take part. And guests can look forward to retro goodies. The convention is full of sellers of retro games, old consoles, accessories, collectible and action figures, merchandise, Star Wars and other cult toys. Auctions are planned in collaboration with “Sci-Fi 4 Charity” for the German Children’s Cancer Aid. Entrance is at 11 a.m. Entry costs six euros.
