Slavia lost Lukáš Žejdl even before the winning match with Litoměřice, the experienced striker agreed with the local management on the premature end of cooperation. The club informed about it on its website.
“I decided to stop my hockey career. It didn’t fulfill me and I didn’t help the team as much as I would have liked,” the 32-year-old Žejdl said in his statement.
In the ongoing season of the Chance League, he played 20 games for Slavia, in which he collected nine points for a single shot on target and eight goal assists.
He previously played in the extra league for the club in Eden, but after stints in Třinec, Mladá Boleslav, Hradec Králové and Litvínov, he returned to it before the 2021/22 season.
“It didn’t fulfill me and I didn’t help the team as much as I would have liked.”
In total, during his career to date, he played in a stitched jersey 260 competitive games, scoring 145 points for 62 goals and 83 assists.
“HC Slavia Prague thanks Lukáš for his services and wishes him the best of luck in his future challenges,” reads the official website of the Prague club.
