Retirement: it will soon be easier to declare an error in your career

Retirement can be prepared for all ages. Today, when you notice an error in taking your career into account, for example forgetting a summer job, you can always report it to Pension Insurance by sending supporting documents. But, if you are under 55, you are kindly asked to keep these documents and return them later, when your retirement date is nearer. “It has been a long time since our strategy to encourage, preferably a few years before retirement, to regularize his retirement,” recalls Renaud Villard, Managing Director of the National Old Age Insurance Fund (Cnav).

This operating principle will soon change. The evolution will take place in stages. First date to remember, July 1st. In less than a month, if you see an error in your career and are under 55, the request will now be processed. “It is promised from this date, if you write to us to regularize your career when you are 37 years old, we will process your request, but it will not be within 15 days because you are not a priority”, specifies the director.

After this first step, career regularization will continue to be simplified. These changes are linked to the establishment of the career directory onto which more than 7 billion pieces of data have been migrated. It brings together all the information from the basic scheme and the supplementary scheme for employees of the private Agirc-Arrco. This new tool will be deployed in September. After internal training for teams to use it, a new service will be offered to users during the first half of 2022. “The insured will then be able to write directly in his career directory (on his personal online space on the site lassuranceretraite.fr, editor’s note). For example, he can add summer jobs, send pay slips and validate, explains Renaud Villard. On our side we will see a notification appear in the career regularization tool. We will check all the parts and validate them ”. So whatever your age, you will be able to check whether there is any error in taking your career into account and if so, make the changes immediately. This will avoid having to do research decades later to find a document you had on hand when you noticed an error.
