Former sumo wrestler Wakashimazu Araiso has retired from the Sumo Association.

Mr. Araiso, whose real name is Mitsuo Hidaka, was 66 years old and was born in Nakatane Town.

He was promoted to ozeki and won two makuuchi titles before retiring in 1987. After that, he served as a master Matsugane, instructing the younger generation, and also served as a director of the association.

From 2014, he took the name Nishonoseki, an old man, and even after retirement at the age of 65, he was still working in the association as Master Araiso, but the association announced on the 21st that he had retired.
