Trump himself had requested such a special teacher. Earlier this month it became clear that the judge would allow it. Trump’s lawyers call in an independent third party to examine the material found at Trump’s resort in Mar-a-Lago “a major government control.”

The judge also ruled Thursday that the FBI cannot immediately continue investigations into confidential documents found in Trump’s home. The Department of Justice had asked for it, after Trump had just urged the judge to suspend the criminal investigation while waiting for an arbitrator.

Dearie is a highly experienced New York attorney and was President of the Brooklyn Supreme Court for many years. He was given full authority by the judge to inspect all documents that were seized, including those labeled as highly confidential. Justice firmly opposes this and will most likely challenge the judge’s order in a federal appeals court.
