Retired Firefighter Mario Boisson Conquers the New York Marathon

Mario Boisson retired from professional firefighting in 2018, as lieutenant 1st class, head of the Barjac rescue center. Professionally he was a hardened sportsman, and he knew how to maintain a remarkable level. By bike, by running, or by hiking, he tirelessly travels the local paths.

In 2021, he ran the Paris Marathon. Recently, he decided to aim higher, namely that of New York (United States). Thus, on Sunday November 5, the Peyrolais completed the 42.195 km course, in 5 hours.

“Once registered, the sports organization took care of me, formalities and accommodation, everything was planned. I broke the bank, but participation in this prestigious event, with its 60,000 competitors, was worth it” , explains Mario Boisson.
