The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued a statement saying: “The Army Command mourns retired Brigadier General George Karam, who died on 10/5/2023.”
The statement added, “The following is a summary of his life: “Born: 10/10/1951 in Jezzine.
– He volunteered in the army on 10/1/1973, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant on 7/1/1976, then was promoted to the rank of brigadier general as of 1/1/2003.
He received several medals and was commended by the Army Commander and congratulated several times.
– He followed several study courses at home and abroad.
– Married to Wale Veldan.
The Directorate concluded its statement: “The funeral will be held on 10/11/2023 in the diaspora, and a mass and funeral will be held for his repose, on 10/22/2023 at 11:00 in the Church of St. Rita – Sin El Fil.”
