Rethinking Work and Travel: The Concept of Responsible Travel Time at Ubiq

Do you know the TTR? Responsible Travel Time corresponds to additional days off which give employees the opportunity to travel responsibly. Between well-being at work, flexibility and environmental commitment, this initiative was imagined by the founders of Ubiq. Meeting with Margaux Beaunez, marketing and communication manager for this company specializing in workspaces.

Tell us how the team ofUbiq had the idea of Responsible Travel Time…

Margaux Beaunez: Ubiq is a support platform for companies in their search for offices. Depending on their DNA, their working conditions, their growth, we find them an office that suits them. Our philosophy is to enlighten, to question, to rethink the labor market, with a capital T. We seek to experiment with the world of work of tomorrow! How to do it well and better in the future, therefore taking into account the well-being of employees and collaborators. What improvements and benefits companies could bring to them so that they evolve better according to their needs.

We work on these aspects for the companies we work for, but we also think about what we can offer, test, experiment in our own company. In December 2022, over a coffee with Mehdi Dziri [le directeur général d’Ubiq], we discussed the environmental impact of our company. We thought about what we could do at our level to reduce the impact on the planet, to go a little further than what we were already doing. We said to ourselves: why not give our employees one or two days off to avoid having to take the plane? The idea, in our company, was therefore to say “if you have a more respectful plan B for your trip, we offer you that day.
