Retail Gasoline Sellers in Depok Closed, Impact of Ban on Buying Pertalite Using Jerrycans

DEPOK. KOMPAS.com – We have (36), retail petrol seller on Jalan Prosperity, Sukmajaya, Depok, was forced to close his stall. Because, Pertamina prohibit the purchase of fuel oil (BBM) Pertalite use jerry can.

Usually, every two days Mamy buys two Pertalite screams at a price of Rp. 285,000. However, after the ban, Mamy can no longer sell.

Before the month of Ramadan, the stock of gasoline in his stall always runs out with a selling price of Rp. 10,000 per liter.

“Usually I buy (pertalite) IDR 285 thousand per jerry can, thank God before the fasting month two jerry cans run out. If you don’t have gasoline now, how about it,” said Mamy, when met on Thursday (7/4/2022).

According to Mamy, if Pertamina relaxes its policy towards retail gasoline traders, the possibility of queuing problems at public gas stations (SPBU) can be reduced.

“I feel sorry for consumers if they queue at old gas stations. We, retail gasoline traders, can actually reduce long queues, that helps too,” said Mamy.

Mamy said that since this morning there were at least a dozen motorcyclists who wanted to buy gasoline at the place. In fact, there were five drivers who pushed their vehicles.

“There were already about 15 people who wanted to buy gasoline here. So there were five motorists who were pushed (the vehicle),” he said.

The ban on the purchase of Pertalite fuel using jerry cans will be enforced at all gas stations.

This prohibition is known from Pertamina’s circular letter to gas station operators or fuel distribution agencies in regional areas (East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara (Jatimbalinus).

The letter dated April 5, 2022 from the Region Manager Retail Sales Jatimbalinus Fedy Alberto contained a ban on gas stations serving the purchase of Pertalite with jerry cans, because Pertalite has now become a Special Assignment Fuel Type (JBKP).

Acting Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, SH C&T Pertamina Irto Ginting confirmed the information on the ban. He said the policy of prohibiting the purchase of Pertalite with jerry cans will be applied to all gas stations in Indonesia, not only the Jatimbalinus region.

“The point is that we will inform all gas stations (forbidden to buy Pertalite with jerry cans), considering this is subsidized fuel,” said Irto to Kompas.comThursday (7/4/2022).
