They have become stars. On Facebook Joseph, Gilberte, Remey, Yvonne and a dozen other residents of the Verger des Coudry nursing home in Cervens are almost essential. The video of their gymnastics class (to see HERE) exceeds 2.3 million views. It was March 12, a special day. The first time since the start of the health crisis that they met for an activity together, in the same room.
Vaccination
“It was only happiness”, remembers the gerontological care facilitator of the establishment. “They needed to find each other, to be all together, to live together “, continues Nathalie Champonnet still moved. “It brought us a lot of joy, _we laughed a lot_, it was good”, loose Gilberte, 91 years old. A reunion made possible thanks to vaccination. Almost all of the seventy-four residents received their two doses of vaccine.
If today, an almost normal life has resumed within this Ehpad, the possible return of more severe restrictions worries everyone. “At this time, the vaccinated residents can see their families, a new confinement would be morally difficult”, recognizes Laurent Queguiner, the director of the Verger de Coudry. Whatever happens, the common activities will not stop, the nursing home staff promises.
