Libreville, Sunday November 26, 2023 (Infos Gabon) – The emergency work ordered by the Head of State, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, after the break in the road between Ntoum and Okolassi, about thirty kilometers from Libreville, which occurred during the night from Friday to Saturday, made it possible to restore the circulation.
After some stress and tension following the rupture of the roadway in Okolassi, around thirty kilometers from Libreville, traffic resumed yesterday on National No. 1. The incident caused during the night from Friday to Saturday by bad weather was quickly brought under control thanks to a prompt reaction from the transitional authorities who immediately initiated emergency repair work on the infrastructure. In addition to the rupture of the roadway, the landslide also led to a disconnection of the DN1000 pipe and the dislocation of the DN1200 pipe of the Gabon Energy and Water Company (SEEG). Thus leading to a service shutdown at the Ntoum production station which deprived the towns of Libreville, Akanda and Owendo of water.
Under the supervision of the Prime Minister, head of government, Raymond Ndong Sima, who had several members of the government at his side, the delegation sent by the head of state, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, went to galvanize the workers on the site. This resumption of traffic on National Road No. 1 was to the great satisfaction of users and local residents who continue to praise the promptness of the transition authorities.
