Resuming the payment of health and family benefits for the insured normally within the next few days

The media office of the Director General of the National Social Security Fund, Muhammad Karaki, announced that, “As is customary at the beginning of each new year, and with the aim of completing the annual accounting reconciliations between the regional and local offices and the main office, the fund stops for a short period from paying social and health benefits to the insured.”

And he explained in a statement, “Under Karaki’s direction, the concerned users completed their tasks as quickly as possible, in order not to delay the secured persons obtaining their rights,” noting that “accordingly, Karaki issued Resolution No. 24 on 01/16/2023, according to which he gave The regional and local offices have financial advances amounting to about 13.4 billion Lebanese pounds, to finance the offices periodically (every fifteen days). Because any delay in this field jeopardizes their health security.”

Al-Karaki confirmed, “During the next few days, the local and regional offices and centers spread over all Lebanese regions will return to submitting payments normally.” He extended his sincere thanks to the Lebanese state, especially the Ministry of Finance, “for paying the amount of 1225 billion pounds during the year 2022.”

He pointed out that “these funds will take the right path by allocating them to secure the necessary financing, to reconsider the Fund’s contribution to the medical and hospital bill, as well as the money that will be additionally returned to the Fund’s treasury, due to the wage increase that was recently announced by the Caretaker Minister of Labor, Mustafa Bayram.” After the index committee meeting on Friday 13/01/2023.
