Rbnett was in contact with the police around 4.15 pm, and there were no new updates. Operations Manager Leif Arne Mork then said that large resources have been invested in the search operation from, among others, the police, relief corps and civilians.

Romsdals Budstikke’s employee at the place where the car is parked, states in the 1830s on Thursday that 5-6 avalanche dogs have searched in the area. And crews from the Red Cross and Norwegian People’s Aid have been far up the mountain without the man being found.

– Sea King has now arrived after another rescue mission. It will now be assessed whether there is good enough visibility to apply by helicopter at altitude, says Mork.

– How is the terrain to travel in for the search crews?

– In the lowlands, the terrain is fine, but further up there are high mountains and the area around the peak is steep and high, in addition there are glaciers, says Mork.

He states that crews have so far rented up to around 1000 meters altitude, and been in some DNT cabins in the area.

– Have any observations been made of the missing person?

– We are not 100 percent sure, but a tour group may have met the man yesterday when he started the trip. We believe that, says Mork.

– Is it possible to continue the search throughout the evening after dark?

– We will continue outside, even after dark. We will keep the pressure up as long as it is safe and sound, the operations manager states.

The police inform RBnett just before 10 pm on Thursday night that they will be in the area with crew all night, and assess the search. They will start searching again as soon as it lights up.
