A bustling Olympic site: Vaires-sur-Marne, a major attraction
Seine-et-Marne hosted the canoeing and rowing competitions thanks to the Olympic site of Vaires-sur-Marne, located in the east of the territory. The event was a true popular celebration, where spectators and enthusiasts were able to witness high-level performances while enjoying an exceptional setting.
Some were able to attend the Paris 2024 Games thanks to the Department of Seine-et-Marne which offered 12,000 tickets to residents, local actors, college students, sports associations, welcoming para clubs and partners and establishments committed to the para sport.
The enthusiasm for this sporting event has not only highlighted the beauty of the site but also the importance of Seine-et-Marne as a sporting land. Many athletes from all over the world, as well as delegations, have stopped in the department, contributing to a dynamic tourism and enhancement of local infrastructure.
