Match progress
First round
France immediately pressed hard on the Indonesia Under-20 national team from the start of the game. That strategy also led to the first goal when the game had only been going for three minutes.
This goal came from a mistake by Cahya Supriadi, who instead lost the ball to Mattis Abline in the penalty area. As a result, the Bleus captain – a French nickname – immediately baited Andy Diouf who easily hit the ball into the net.
Continuing to press, France managed to double in the 11th minute. This time, the quick counter-attack they demonstrated translated into a goal scored from a header by Alexis Tibidi who took advantage of Loum Tchaouna’s low pass.
Subsequently, the red and white team continued to have difficulties in ball control. Marselino Ferdinan and his colleagues also made a lot of bad passes, so it was very difficult for them to get out of the pressure from France.
On the other hand, France had several dangerous chances through Abline and Tibidi until the 30th minute. However, the kick they released was still not on target.
In the 39th minute, Les Bleus were awarded a penalty after Muhammad Ferarri brought down Abline in the prohibited area. Abline himself, who was its executor, did his job well by taking away his team with a 3-0 lead. The score stood until the end of the first half.
Second round
The second half didn’t last even a minute, France touched Indonesia’s goal for the fourth time. Fortunately, substitute goalkeeper Daffa Fasya was in just the right position to block Mattis Abline’s shot as he headed into the bottom right corner of the goal.
In the 56th minute the Garuda Nusantara Troops finally had their first dangerous chance in this game following a free kick from Frengky Missa. Unfortunately, his curved shot still went just on the right side of the goal.
Continuing to attack, Les Bleus managed to win 4-0 in the 62nd minute thanks to Abline’s second goal. The number nine back striker fired an accurate shot from outside the box that hit the bottom right corner of the goal after failing to reach Daffa.
Five minutes later, the referee pointed to the penalty spot again after one of the Indonesian players committed a hand ball in the prohibited area. Luckily for Shin Tae Yong’s fleet, Tchaouna was unable to run the ball properly as his penalty kick was saved by Daffa who flew to the right of goal.
In the 77th minute, France managed to score their fifth goal of this match through Martin Adeline. The No. 22 hit the Indonesia net with a hard kick that grabbed Mohamed Cisse’s bait.
Going into the last 10 minutes of regular time, the red and white continued to come under pressure from the European giants, who didn’t let up their attacks despite bringing in second-tier players. Then, Mohamed Cisse’s hard kick goal at the end of the game closed this game with a score of 6-0 for France to win.
