Representatives of the Finlay Institute of Vaccines (IFV), of the Cuban Biotechnological and Pharmaceutical Industries Group (BioCubaFarma), presented this Wednesday to the Italian regulatory authority the results of the pediatric vaccination with the Sovereign 02 and Sovereign immunogen scheme Plus.
In its Twitter account, the Agency for Cultural and Economic Exchange with Cuba (Aicec, for its acronym in Italian), reflects the meeting in which the Cuban delegation, headed by the president of the IFV, Dr. Vicente Vérez, presented the results Giorgio Palù, president of the Italian Pharmaceutical Agenzia (AIFA), and Nicola Magrini, general director of the regulatory entity.
“Scientific results shared with the international scientific community and under the endorsement of the immunization of 1.7 million Cuban children,” Aicec highlighted in a tweet that the Finlay Vaccine Institute replied.

Aicec also reported on the presentation of Soberana 02 in the Italian Chamber of Deputies, together with legislators Erasmo Palazzotto and Gilda Sportiello, the latter from the Social Affairs Commission.
“The importance of the Cuban pediatric vaccine cannot be ignored, given its scientific evidence,” the Italian institution said in that tweet, which also highlights the proven safety of Soberana 02 in children two years of age and older.
The Cuban scientists, among whom is also Dr. Dagmar García, Director of Research at the IFV, also held a meeting with the Director General of Prevention of the Italian Ministry of Health, Giovanni Rezza.
The delegation from the Finlay Institute of Vaccines arrived on a working visit to Italy on March 3 and its program of activities there will conclude on the 12th.
