Results of National 2: Promotions and Relegations determined on the last day of the championship

The promoted and relegated are now known at the end of the last day of National 2, which was played on Saturday June 3.

SA Épinal and Goal FC fought hard for their place in National on the final day of the 45th edition of the National 2 championship. On the wire for the Vosges, who share first place in group B with FC Fleury but take the elevator through better results in their particular encounters. By obtaining a last victory for the Rhodaniens (main photo), which allows them to keep two points ahead of Vendée Les Herbiers at the head of group D.

The last relegation players have also been determined: Évreux FC (group A), US Lusitanos Saint-Maur, Olympique de Saint-Quentin, FC Sainte-Geneviève (group B), Le Canet RFC, Louhans-Cuiseaux FC, the reserve of the Olympique Lyonnais (group C) and that of FC Lorient (group D) will evolve next season in the lower division.

GROUP A

The last question concerned the place of last relegation with two teams concerned, which met precisely during this last day. By winning on the field of Évreux FC (1-2), the reserve of EA Guingamp obtained its maintenance and condemned the Normans.

FC Rouen, author of a twenty-first success at AS Beauvais-Oise (1-3), is runner-up Racing CFF, which won at home ahead of Saint-Pryvé Saint-Hilaire (2 -0). Les Ile-de-France overtake FC Chambly Oise, beaten at home by the Voltigeurs de Châteaubriant (0-1) but who complete the podium.

GROUP B

The first place was the object until the end of a fierce fight between SA Épinal and FC Fleury 91, separated by two points in favor of the Vosges before their last meeting. The Floriacumois ensured the essentials by winning on a penalty from Anthony Petrilli in front of the US Boulogne CO (1-0). Enough to return to the level of the Spinaliens, held in check by the US Lusitanos Saint-Maur (1-1). But not enough to reach the National, Épinal retaining the lead for the benefit of the particular goal average (1 draw, 1 victory).

Despite this draw for the leader, Saint-Maur did not escape the descent by finishing in thirteenth place. It is accompanied by FC Saint-Geneviève, twelfth after its defeat at AS Furiani-Agliani (1-0). Olympique de Saint-Quentin, however winner of the FC Metz reserve (3-1), also descends to the title of worst eleventh of all groups.

Group B results and standings

GROUP C

Six teams were in the fight for maintenance before their final meeting, with three ejection seats in balance. SC Toulon narrowly escaped it by beating Le Canet RFC at the last minute (2-1), precipitating the Canétois in N3. To the great misfortune also of Louhans-Cuiseaux FC, whose draw at Aubagne FC (1-1) would have been enough if the Varois had been held in check.

The reserve of Olympique Lyonnais, defeated by EFC Fréjus Saint-Raphaël (2-3) after having led 2-1 is also relegated. The big score of this final day was achieved by AS Saint-Priest who crushed FC Sète (8-2), with in particular a quadruple from Sosa Maluvunu, in a meeting between the last two.

Group C results and standings

GROUP D

In the fight for accession with Vendée Les Herbiers, Goal FC (picture below) achieved his goal by beating Stade Bordelais (3-1), on goals from Julien Kouadio, Thibaut Le Maître and Alexis Pereira, against an achievement by Moussa Dia. The Rhodanians have kept their two-point lead over Vendeans whose success at Moulins Yzeure Foot (1-4) will have been in vain.

A final place in relegation remained to be filled, with Andrézieux-Bouthéon FC and the FC Lorient reserve two units behind in the hot seat. The two won, the Ligériens at Bourges F18 (0-2) and the Bretons at SO Romorantin (2-3), leading to the descent of Lorient.
