Some 800,000 people demonstrated Thursday in Paris for the ninth day of mobilization for the CGT against 119,000 for the authorities.
Several clashes erupted Thursday on the sidelines of the Parisian demonstration against the pension reform. In all, 127 people were arrested and taken into custody, BFMTV learned from a police source.
2,458 checks were carried out by the police and 454 people were fined, mainly for taking part in an unauthorized event (not on the official route). In all, 105 members of the internal security forces were in relative emergency and 14 police officers were taken to hospital.
321 interventions for fires
Many interventions were also carried out: 321 concerning fires. Individuals in particular voluntarily set fire to waste which littered the rue Saint-Marc, in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris. A fire started which quickly spread to the facade of the neighboring building and residents had to be evacuated.
In all, 800,000 demonstrators gathered in Paris according to the CGT this Thursday, 119,000 according to the Ministry of the Interior.
