Bourg-en-Bresse 27 – 7 Vienna:
It was a shock at the bottom of the table, the two relegated players found themselves on the pitch at Bourg-en-Bresse. After thanking his coach, Fabrice Estebanez, at the start of the week, the Bressans had no room for error at home. In this particular context, the USBPA players took the match from the right end, to quickly lead 11-0, then 17-7 at the break. A try and a penalty allowed them to seal the score in the second half. On their home field, the Bressans finally launched their season with this first success. Promoted Vienna continues its very poor start to the season and has still not experienced the joy of a victory.
Chambéry 33 – 27 Massy:
Another bottom of the table, Chambéry hosted a second match in a row in their new stadium. For the Chambérians, the stakes were twofold, a victory which would allow them to overtake their evening opponents. The locals started the game on foot to quickly lead 19-0, before being caught, 19-14 at halftime. The match did not decrease in intensity after the lemons. Chambéry finally wins ahead of Massy who takes a vital defensive bonus point in the race to maintain. The Savoyards are definitely launching their season and giving themselves a little fresh air.
Nice 38 – 10 Carcassonne :
After his away victory last week, Nice was keen to achieve a second success, at home and against a direct competitor this time, Carcasonne, who were making a second trip. The Niçois took this meeting from the right end and despite an early first try from USC, quickly recovered to lead 16-10 at halftime. Then thanks to an excellent second half, 38-10 at the final whistle. Nice carries out the good operation with an offensive bonus point, while the Carcassonnais have only taken one point in the last two days.
Suresnes 34 – 21 Blagnac:
After its defeat in the Ile de France derby last week, Suresnes wanted to bounce back against the Blagnacais who were sure of their strength after their success last week. Confident of their strength, the Périgourdins quickly led 13-0 before letting the match slip away, trailing 17-13 at the break, Périgeux would not score any more points. Finally, Tarbes won largely and hit the right wagon in this National.
Albi 29 – 22 Narbonne:
Duel at the top, Albi which had not lost since the first day, welcomed Narbonne which has only known success since the start of the championship, first at second. A slightly reworked Narbonne, which despite opening the score, quickly trailed 10-3, then 20-8 at the break. Despite a good return from the locker room which allowed the Narbonnais to come back to 23-19, the visitors were unable to avoid defeat. The RCN grabs the bonus point, but loses its first place to their evening opponents.
Bourgoin 18 – 15 Hyères:
After their defeat on the Narbonne pitch last week, the Berjalians wanted to get back on track. The reception of Hyères, direct competitor, was the perfect opportunity. The CSBJ reacted well to lead 12-9 in the locker room. Two new penalties, from their back Nicolas Cachet, allowed them to seal a crucial victory. Hyères, despite everything, obtains a good defensive bonus point.
