Results and Thanks from the Pongistic Event’s Open d’Espalion

On Saturday May 6, the Pongistic Event’s Open d’Espalion took place. A competition which brought together 12 leagues, with 5 young people per team (Category, Poussin, Benjamin, Minime): Federació Catalana de Tennis de Taula, Ligue Occitanie de Tennis de Table, Ligue Paca Tennis de Table

Grand Est Table Tennis League, CD ping 12 Aveyron, Gard Committee, Haute-Garonne Committee, Tarn-et-Garonne Committee, Canohès Toulouges table tennis, ASPTT Albi, ASPC Nîmes Table Tennis,

Ping Saint Paulais Land of Plenty.

The Aveyron League team made up of: Damien Tanguy (Espalion Aveyron), Damien Etienne (Ping-Pong Capdenacois), Théo Patrave (Ping Olemps), Emma Laval (Ping-Pong club Lioujacois), Sarah Calado (Ping-Pong Club Villefranchois) finished in 10th place.

The next day, in individual competition by category, Villefranchoise Sarah Calado took 2nd place in Minime girl.

To organize the Espalion Open which took place on May 6 and 7, many people worked hard to make it go as smoothly as possible.

Thank you to Christophe Garry who acted as the referee during the two days of competition and who allowed all the matches to start on time.

Thanks to Patrick Martinez and all the volunteers of the Espalion Aveyron club for the welcome and all the logistical help on site (assembly and dismantling of the hall, refreshment bar, etc.). Congratulations on your daily investment.

Thank you to the mayor of Espalion, Éric Picard for coming and taking his time to present the awards to our young champions.

Thank you to all the coaches and guides of the delegations who supervised all these young table tennis players throughout the competition.

Thank you to the public (mostly made up of parents) for coming to encourage and create atmosphere in the stands.

Thank you to the whole Occitanie Table Tennis League team (Paul Martinez, Nathalie Fortuny, Florian Maillard, Emmanuel Boll, Anthony Sadran) who worked upstream and downstream of the event to ensure its smooth running.

Finally, thanks to the com team (Antoine Berthelemy, Melody Sok, Simon Van Haute) who offered you all the content you saw around the event.
